Continuous Improvement

I have always been a curious person and I advocate continuous improvement. I still remember the time my parents gave me a cassette tape recorder. My father was beside himself when he found me taking it apart to see how it worked. I never made that mistake again. My curiosity extends to my work. I am always looking at new technologies from the point of view of how they might benefit myself or my customers. I have to admit that I have been slow to adopt a paperless office. There is a certain appeal to holding a piece of paper and making edits on it. This year I decided to save all of the business bills and invoices instead of printing and filing them. I don’t know why it took me so long. Habits are hard to break. I take comfort in the fact that anything I save to my computer is automatically copied to the cloud. I can even make another copy on a USB device for safekeeping.

Over the last few years the number and quality of cloud applications for business has mushroomed. Microsoft has grown the 365 family into an impressive array of applications. I’m pleased they built the Power Apps platform to integrate with outside services. I am a Sage 300 consultant and have been for a long time. I spent this winter learning Sage Intacct. It didn’t take me long to become comfortable with it and I am happy to say that I am now certified for Sage Intacct.
